The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will conduct the autopsy on the remains of murder convict and former policeman Jonel M. Nuezca who died last Nov. 30 at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Deo L. Marco, who supervises the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), said the body of Nuezca is at the NBP’s morgue.”

BuCor Deputy Director General Gabriel P. Chaclag said Nuezca died at around 6:44 pm on Nov. 30 at the NBP Hospital after being brought by his cell mates.

“Naglalakad daw po siya sa labas ng dormitory building noong siya ay nag collapse. May kasama siyang naglalakad (He was walking outside the dormitory building when he collapsed. He was with several inmates when it happened),” Chaclag said.

Nuezca was convicted of two counts of murder last Aug. 26 by Judge Stela Marie Q. Gandia-Asuncion of Paniqui regional trial court (RTC) in Tarlac for the deaths of Sonia Gregorio and her son Frank Anthony Gregorio.

The gruesome killings were recorded on video using a mobile phone and quickly became viral online.

The video was one of the pieces of evidence used in Nuezca’s conviction. The person who took the video was presented as a witness.
