'It's all about the flavor of the hot dogs': Pink's owners tour Vice Ganda at LA store

‘Hot dog is life!’

Starting out as a food stall in 1939, Pink’s Hot Dogs became one of the go-to eats in Hollywood, not only for regular diners but also for celebrities. With its monstrous hot dog sandwich creations, burger specials, and Celebrity Wall of Fame, it is certainly a must-visit place in Los Angeles for people looking for an all-American dining experience and a dose of Tinsel Town’s pop culture. That’s why in Vice Ganda’s recent trip, he didn’t miss out on trying the restaurant’s delicious serving and even got to meet its owners.

With a hair color to match, the Filipino comedian got a chance encounter with Gloria and Richard, the second generation leaders of the beloved food spot. Richard is the son of Pink’s Hot Dogs founders Paul and Betty Pink. During Gloria’s tour of the shop, the “It’s Showtime” host asked what makes the restaurant special.

“It‘s all about the flavor of the hot dogs,” Gloria responded. “They snap! You have to taste them. We have over 40 different varieties. It’s all about the different toppings.”

Apart from tasting an assortment of hot dog sandwiches, which Vice gleefully gave five-star ratings, he was also gifted a Pink’s hot dog face mask and a bedazzled hot dog pouch.

Pink’s Hot Dog’s came to the Philippines in 2016 with stores now open at Shangri-La at the Fort and in mega-casino Okada Manila, its first international franchise. Its mouthwatering hot dogs, burgers, and milkshakes can also be found on the menu of Wildflour and Little Flour branches.
