The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has procured three passenger buses for its employees.

Photos of the turnover of the buses were shared by the poll body on Facebook Thursday, Nov. 4.
The Comelec said the three units of passenger buses were formally turned over to them at their main office in Intramuros, Manila.
Comelec Executive Director Bartolome J. Sinocruz, Jr., Secretary of the Commission Atty. Consuelo B. Diola, Procurement Management Department (PMD) Dir. Zita Buena-Castillon, Administrative Services Department (ASD) Dir. J. Thaddeus P. Hernan and other poll officials were present to receive the buses from representatives of BJ Mercantile Inc.
According to Comelec, the Scania passenger buses are expected to "augment the Commission's current fleet of service vehicles and help alleviate the transportation woes of some of its personnel who live far from the headquarters." In October 2020, the Comelec was also in receipt of a passenger bus, a coaster and a 6-wheeler light cargo truck, which was procured as part of its overall response to the pandemic and the ongoing preparations for the May 2022 polls.
