Heart Evangelista delves in the world of NFTs

While some local celebrities are engaged in several intriguing and controversial issues, Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco-Escudero, better known as Heart Evangelista, finds NFT as something to put her creativity and time into a much better use.

Heart revealed on social media that she has spent the last three months "studying the wonderful world of NFT." She even gave a brief introduction of this technology, which is slowly gaining traction in the art world.

NFT or "non-fungible token" is a digital asset that links ownership to unique physical or digital items, such as works of art, real estate, music, or videos. NFTs can be considered modern-day collectibles.

Just recently, I was able to secure and obtain my own NFT after registering at nft.dcuniverse.com. I was able to obtain ownership of free Superman and Harley Quinn artworks.

What's great about NFT, and its main benefit, as Heart highlighted in her post, is the proof of ownership. NFTs can assist in connecting ownership to a single account because they are on a blockchain network. Most importantly, NFTs are non-distributable and cannot be shared among numerous owners.

"Basically, anything that can be stored digitally can be made into an NFT! These are really cool because they let a buyer prove that they are the true owner of a piece of art even if the art can be freely viewed by the public online. It’s such an interesting combination of art and technology that lets artists express themselves in a whole new way," Heart shared through her post on Facebook.

"I am so thrilled to announce that I’ve created my very first NFTs using some of my favorite pieces! For the last few months, I’ve been collaborating with Luis Bueneventura @cryptopop, one of the first and most talented Filipino NFT artists, and Rodel Colmenar, composer of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s such a thrill to work with these talented artists to bring these NFT pieces to life and I’m so excited to share them with you on @opensea starting on November 4. Will be posting more information on how you can own one of these NFTs that are so special to me very soon!" the actress added.

Although NFTs are generally built using the same kind of programming as cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, their similarity ends with that. Physical money and cryptocurrencies are “fungible,” meaning they can be traded or exchanged for one another.

Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey's NFT was sold for a whopping $2,915,835.47, making it the most expensive NFT ever sold. The NFT was Dorsey's first tweet ever made – “just setting up my twttr.” And while anyone can still view the tweet online, only Sina Estavi, the man who bought the NFT in March 2021, can say he owns it.
