The night gold turned into diamond First Philippine Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz was totally shocked when she finally got served the diamond ring that she has always been waiting for her longtime beau and coach Julius Naranjo to give her.

The marriage proposal happened last night in one of Resorts World Manila’s Vubble pods where the couple was joined by some of their friends from showbusiness supposedly to be the special guests of Sheraton Hotel Manila General Manager Anna Liza Vergara for her “birthday.”

Diaz was clueless that the night was actually all for her. Last night’s proposal marked the couple’s engagement, which is expected to lead to a wedding that is set to happen between next year and 2023, or just before the 2024 Paris Olympiad.
