The number of new voter registrants is now more than six million.

Data shared by Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon showed 6,162,122 new registrants from Aug. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2021.
The data also showed the breakdown of applications received: 1,591,481 (Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2019); 249, 254 (Jan. 20-Mar. 9, 2020); 170,226 (Sept. 1-30,2020); 318,172 (Oct. 1 to Dec. 29,2020); 776,194 (Jan. 4 to Mar. 31,2021); 805,670 (Apr. 5 to June 30,2021); and 2,251,125 (July 1 to Sept. 30,2021).
On Sept. 29, the Comelec en banc unanimously approved the extension of voter registration until Oct. 30.
"Extension is from Oct. 11 to 30, Monday to Friday, no Saturdays, except for the last day (Oct.30), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m." Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said in a statement.
He said all types of registration services will be offered during the registration.
"Most of the registration will still be conducted in Comelec offices, but there are still mall registration sites," he said.
"Online reactivation still an option," added Jimenez.
The deadline for voter registration period was originally set on Sept. 30.
