
One hundred and twenty-nine persons have applied as corrections officers for Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
“Out of 129, 84 were interviewed particularly 44 males and 40 females,” BuCor said.
It said that applications are still open. Applicants should be Filipinos, must not be less than 21 years old and not more than 41 years old, must be 1.62 meters in height for males and 1.57 meters for females, of good moral character, with baccalaureate degree and appropriate civil service eligibility, must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment, and must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude.
BuCor said that it recruited almost 800 corrections officers for batch 2020 for its seven Operating Prison and Penal Farms (OPPF).
Aside from LRP, the other prisons farms are the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IWPPF) in Puerto Princesa, and the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Zamboanga City.
