One of the fun opportunities I had in the past was to host the “red carpet” segment of numerous awards nights. (pang carpet lang ang beauty ko!) My role was always to welcome the arriving guests, ask them who made their outfits and throw interesting questions. I even had a segment for a TV5 talk show wherein my assignment was to be at the red carpet and do hilarious q and a with the stars. (as in walang wawang mga tanong ha!)
Here are some of my unforgettable interviews:

*Superstar, Nora Aunor.
TV5 organized an “All Star-All Black” party for all talents. The invitation said, attendees should wear black. But Ate Guy arrived in an orange gown. (ayaw pakabog!)
MR.FU: Hello po Ate Guy! Good evening po.
Dramatic Actress Lorna Tolentino heard our conversation. She grabbed me and said: “NAkakaloka ka! Hindi kita kinakaya!” (hindi ko rin kinaya at sinabihan ko pa ng ponkan na ponkan ang superstar!)

*Actress, Gretchen Barretto
Gretchen arrived at the Film Academy Awards Sponsored Event in her stunning gown. An interesting jewelry on her wrist caught my attention. (paandar kasi!)
MR. FU : Wow, that’s nice! (yun lang nareact ko!)
Gretchen: That’s Bulgari.
MR.FU. ohhh.. Sorry how do you pronounce it? Bul…
Gretchen: Bulgari! Say it Fast! Bulgari!
(so may teaching lesson pa ha!)

*International Performer, Lea Salonga.
I was at the entrance of Awit Awards but I did not see Lea Salonga’s arrival. But the production staff told me, she was already at the back stage. Since I am a huge fan, I did not hesitate to do an ambush interview with her before her production number on stage. (so may pagka-atribida ako!)
MR.FU: Hello Ms. Lea, I’m Mr.FU. May I have a short interview with you?
Lea: (who was sitting beside her mom) Hello! Sure! How do you want it? Sitting down or standing up?
MR.FU: Ay, luhod nalang po ako. (as in parang lumuhod ako sa harap ng santo habang nagtatanong ng keme keme!)

*TV Executive and Actress, Charo Santos.
Ms. Charo was about to enter the venue of the UST TV Awards when I requested her for an interview. She was gracious to accommodate me. I asked the usual reporter questions. (kunwari magalang ako ganyan!) After the interview, I thanked her and she smiled. But while she was walking towards the hall…
MR.FU : Ma’am Charo! (pasigaw ha!)
Charo: Yes? (lumingon na parang pang MMK camera shot!)
MR.FU: Green na Green kayo ha. Bakit po? (Green dress, green hikaw, green bag, green shoes ganyan!)
Charo: Oh! For prosperity! For the environment. (sabay ngiti!)
The Unknowns.
There was this event that aimed to invite 100 stars for a ball. There were stars indeed (may lumevel naman !) but unfortunately, there were also the “not so stars yet” who attended. The challenge for me as the red carpet host was how to acknowledge them as soon as they arrive. (as in dapat mag-annotate na ako pagbaba pa lang ng car nila!) No choice, I had to ask someone from the production staff to be near me, and feed me with names and information. (so isa itong pagpapanggap na kilala ko sila at feeling close ako !)
