I am always amazed whenever I see customized vehicles that celebrities use during their tapings and shootings. They look like mobile homes that cater to the needs of the rich and famous while they are at work. (ang lakas maka-artista ng van pwedeng condo!)

One of the people who specializes in customizing interiors of cars, vans and buses is businessman John Lopez (playmate ko yan nung nasa kindergarten kami. Playmate?!)

“Since I was a kid, I have this passion of cars. Nadala ko sya until now and I am enjoying my craft.” John says. (ako nga kahit witchcraft di ko kaya!)

He started in the business in 2008 . 4 years later, he decided to put up his own car service company, Tuned in Style. ( hairstyle lang kaya kong iachieve!)

“I feel a different level of happiness whenever I see our clients enjoy what we have done with their cars. The comfort and style that we give them  inspires me to keep going,“  John shares. (sa comfort room ko lang minsan nakukuha yang comfort!)

John admits that his business can be challenging but it has its rewards.  “iba ibang clients yan. Iba iba rin siempre gusto.  Kailangan alamin needs nya at yung personality nya. Minsan may mga imposible na gustong mangyari. Meron na parang gusto ipalagay lahat ang nakitang design sa facebook at instagram namin.  Pero ang fulfilling yung  ma-meet mo expectations nila.  Yung Makita mo yung magandang reaction nila sa nagawa mo.  At bonus yung i-refer ka pa nila sa mga kaibigan nila. “ (irefer mo sakin mga pogi mong clients!)

Tuned in Style has served numerous businessmen, politicians and of course celebrities like Mariel Rodriguez, Angeline Quinto,  Maja Salvador, Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo and Coco Martin. ( soon daw Mr. Fu! Chos!)

He shared some of the things he did for them.

For Maja: “Ford Transit yun. Gusto nya for work and leisure. All black yung interior. May TV. May partition for privacy.  May captain seats for massage and leg rest. (magkano ang massage lang?)

For Vice Ganda: “Volkswagen Crafter sa kanya. Very keen sya sa details. Alam nya kung ano gusto nya." pwedeng maging choosy! Ask pa nya si Sec Roque!)

For Kathniel: “Volkswagen Crafter din. 2 units.  Sabi for work gagamitin. May bed, cr and VIP seats. Nakapagsuggest pa ako ng lay out kay DJ.” (baka sakin yung isang unit!)

For Coco martin. “Gusto nya bullet proof.  Maganda rin kasi parang armored truck yung sasakyan nya. “ (baka gagamitin sa Ang Probinsyano!)

The UST Fine Arts graduate reiterates that customizing a vehicle needs planning and passion and hardwork “ Imporante yung may preliminary meeting with the client para talaga matanong kung anong purpose ng sasakyan. Ilan gagamit? Anong design? Duon na kami nagsusuggest ng pwedeng sasakyan at lay out. “  (tara meeting na tayo!)
