Savor the best of Indian cuisine and French wine at this virtual tasting event

Enjoy exotic food and intoxicating wine with 'Namastay at Home'

"I like to cook Indian food when I can," said actress Archie Panjabi. "I find the process of creating a home-cooked meal to be unwinding." Who could disagree with that? Throughout the pandemic, many of us found solace in busying ourselves with culinary projects. In Archie's case, cooking Indian food sure is a therapeutic activity. With all its colors, spices, and herbs, it definitely awakens the senses. Now, if you are craving for an authentic taste of Indian cooking, bookmark this for the weekend.

Dishoom Seafood Moilee and Appetizer platter and Tandoori Chicken Platter

The Tasting Club partners with Ricksha Streetside Tandoor, Wine Drop, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce, and the French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines in bringing "Namastay at Home with Indian Food and French Wine," a one-of-a-kind virtual dinner to take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

This event will offer an exotic virtual tasting experience featuring delightful Indian cuisine paired with curated French wine to the home of all the attendees while indoor and al fresco dining are still not allowed in Metro Manila.

For this special occasion, Cyril Addison, chef owner of Ricksha Streetside Tandoor, will present the selected dishes while Kevin Charuel, founder of The Tasting Club, will introduce the selection of fine wines from Wine Drop. All dishes and wines are available a la carte so all guests can create their very own dining experience.

Kerala Duck Curry with Confit Duck Leg

As for the selection of Indian dishes, most of them are traditional (Samosa, Tandoori Chicken Platter, Paneer Makhani cooked in a rich tomato and butter sauce, Dishoom Seafood Moilee served with naan bread etc) but one dish will be specially concocted for the event with a French touch: this is a Kerala Duck Curry. A confit duck leg cooked in Kerala curry sauce and served with biryani rice.

French wine selection

"This tasting event is very exciting as we will be exploring French wine with a selection of four different wines from various regions (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire Valley and Provence) that can fit any preferences (semi-sweet white, dry white, rosé and red wine) and pair well with the selection of main dishes," Kevin said. “We are delighted to bring a safe, exotic, and memorable tasting experience to the comfort of our guests in their own homes especially that MECQ has just been extended and we all miss dining out."

To reserve your tasting set and join the virtual experience, register here until Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.
