CIW set to release 18 inmates

Eighteen inmates at the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City are set for release.

The CIW said in a statement that those set for release have finished their three-day seminar on “Personality Development-Developing Self-Esteem” last July 23.

It said the seminar allows the inmates “to learn the definition of self-esteem and its characteristics, to categorize people with high and low self-esteem, and to assist individuals in developing positive confidence.”

“PDLs must know what they want in life to be completely satisfied with their interests,” it also said.

Last July 12 and 15, the CIW released 12 inmates who had been acquitted of the charges filed against them, had been granted parole, and had completed their jail term.

The CIW said: “They were given gratuities to use as transportation back to their respective residences. Swab tests were performed to ensure their safe return to their families, and the External Affairs Section officers successfully handed them recommendation letters for career chances.”
