With the “successful and smooth” conduct of its Career Service Examination Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) in some regions on Sunday, July 18, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) is hoping to hold another test before year ends.
CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes Lizada described as “smooth and successful” the conduct of the Career Service Examination Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) in some areas in Central Visayas, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and National Capital Region (NCR).
“We consider the 2021 Pen and Paper Test, the first ever since the cancellation of 2020 PPT as a success . We will be conducting a post evaluation and hopefully, with the number of the people who are going to be vaccinated, hopefully, we will behaving another pen and paper test before the year ends and this will be opened to the public,” she said in a Viber audio message on Sunday, citing the reports from the regional directors of CSC Regional Offices in BARMM, Central Visayas, and the CSC Central Office’s Examination Recruitment and Placement Office.
In the NCR, a total of 9,073 employees from 35 government agencies, including those under job orders and contract of services were expected to take the examination. Of the number, 7,977 were supposed to take the test for the Professional Career Service and 2,392 for the Sub-professional level.
“Aside from the other agencies that have requested earlier who did not meet the cut-off, hopefully there will be more regions and more LGUs who will be approving hopefully that paper and pen test may proceed in their respective areas,” Lizada said.
The CSC also logged 1,296 examinees from CSC Regional Offices in Central Visayas and BARMM. The civil service exam in Tagbilaran City and Siquijor and in Bongao, Tawi-tawi pushed through on Sunday.
The Commission announced on July 12 the deferment of the CSE-PPT in 18 testing centers in selected regions as a precaution against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
