Duterte appoints new DOJ assistant secretary

President Duterte has appointed Majken Anika S. Gran as assistant secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra said on Thursday, July 1.

Gran, a former head executive assistant, will take over the post of then Assistant Secretary George O. Ortha II who is now the DOJ’s chief state counsel.

There were also appointments and promotions issued by the Office of the President to 31 prosecutors in the DOJ’s National Prosecution Service (NPS).

Appointed were Albay Provincial Prosecutor Wilfredo Gerardo T. Guerrero Jr., Navotas City Prosecutor Armando H. Cavalida, and Guihulngan City Prosecutor Eva Fel C. Pacurib-Mijares.

The other appointees are Venus De Vera Maerzon, prosecutor IV, Manila; Iris-Kay Jacinto Del Valle, prosecutor III, Taguig City; Fermin Maylene Bayro Feraren, prosecutor II, Taguig City; Jasmin Angellano Pararuan, prosecutor II, Pasig City; Juliene Raymond Aguja Cabanacan, prosecutor II, Pasig City;

Leana Mae Moran Blasco, prosecutor II, Pasig City; Krishtine V.
