A man, who threatened to expose online the nude photos and videos of a 14-year-old girl if she would not have sex with him, has been arrested in Tagaytay City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Thursday, June 24.
NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric B. Distor identified the arrested suspect as Froilan Z. Estolano.
Distor said Estolano was arrested last June 17 at a fast-food joint inside a mall in Tagaytay City during an entrapment operation conducted by the NBI’s Cavite District Office (NBI-CAVIDO).
He said charges were filed against Estolano for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act, and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and for corruption of minor under the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
In a statement, the NBI said the complaint against Estolano was filed by the mother of the minor.
“Complainant stated that Subject Froilan befriended her daughter thru Facebook. By accident, complainant discovered the exchange of lewd and lustful conversation between Subject and her daughter,” the NBI said.
It said the girl executed an affidavit and testified that the suspect threatened to “expose their chat conversation if she will not send nude photos.”
“Out of fear, the victim sent her nude photos to the Subject,” it said.
On one occasion, the girl said that she received money from the suspect through Gcash, it added.
“On May 27, 2021, Subject communicated again with the victim and told the latter that he wanted to meet her in person and that if she refuses, their lewd conversation in Messenger, as well as the victim’s nude video, will be uploaded and exposed,” the NBI said.
“This prompted the filing of a complaint before NBI-CAVIDO,” it added.
