Diokno bares plans to run in 2022 polls

Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG) Chairman Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno on Wednesday, June 16, bared plans to run in the 2022 elections.

“Yes, to be clear: I will run in 2022,” Diokno said in his social media post.

He made the assurance after having turned down 1Sambayan coalition which named him among its bets.

“It's difficult now to make a final decision about what position, and I never aspired for President or VP, which 1Sambayan has nominated me for,” he said.

“Ordinary Filipinos and the youth have a voice,” he said in confidence.

“Our justice system is not gonna get fixed unless people in power see the problem and do something about it,” he pointed out.

“I've been a lawyer for three decades, everyday I work on my Free Legal Helpdesk, and I've seen it firsthand,” he said, adding that he knows “how we should fix our justice system.”

Diokno was part of the “Otso Diretso” senatorial candidates of the opposition during the 2016 elections. He lost.
