The relative said the 16-year-old girl who captured on video the fatal shooting and his cousin who was also present during the incident have already testified in the court.

Mark, citing their attorney, said the court hearing of the murder case is progressing fast.

“Sabi nga po nung mga attorney mabilis na po ito kung tutuusin kasi murder case po is umaabot po talaga ng taon according po sa mga attorney na nakausap ko po (The attorneys said that the trial is fast because the murder case is really taking a year, according to the attorneys I talked to),” Mark said in an interview over ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo on Wednesday.

Mark said the family of the suspect, Police Staff Sgt. Jonel Nuezca, including his wife and daughter present during the incident already testified the court.

“Bale ang next hearing po is June 10, hindi po namin alam kung sino po ang uupo sa kanila, kung sino ang witness po nila (The next hearing will be on June 10, we don't know who will be their witness),” he said.

According to the relative, they also presented and proved the authenticity of the video that captured the fatal shooting.

“Pinakita po ulit nung nag-testify po yung pamangkin kong kumuha nung video at saka po nung pinatunayan po nung Cyber Crime Forensic Pampanga, dito sa Region 3 na authentic po yung video po na hindi po inedit (It was shown again when my niece, who to took the video, testified and then when Cyber Crime Forensic Pampanga proved, here in Region 3, that the video is authentic and not edited),” he added.

Florentino Gregorio, the husband of Sonya and father of Frank, also testified in the court during the first hearing last February 4. He underscored the importance of the video captured by the teen witness in the investigation of the case.

The video showed that the shooting happened on Dec. 20, 2020 when the daughter of Nuezca figured in an argument with Sonya. The cop’s daughter was seen yelling at the old woman while saying that her father is a policeman.

Nuezca appeared to get annoyed when the older Gregorio yelled back at his daughter. A few seconds later, the cop shot Sonya in the head at close range. Nuezca also shot Frank, who was with her mother at the time.

Meanwhile, Nuezca pleaded not guilty on two counts of murder that were filed against him on Jan. 10.
