Manila Bulletin's Krizette Chu is one of Rotary Club Manila 11 tourism awardees for 2021

The Rotary Club of Manila (RCM), first in Asia, has selected 11 outstanding individuals in the Travel and Tourism Industry, who will receive the 17th Tourism Awards on May 20, 2021 at a ceremony to be conducted at The Heritage Hotel and broadcast live on Zoom.

“This prestigious award is given to person who has given their utmost services to promote and develop the industry here and abroad,” said Robert Lim Joseph, RCM president and concurrent chair of the tourism award committee

Awardees are Michael Angelo Patrick M. Asperin, chief executive officer of Balesin Island Club, Polilio, Quezon for Luxury Membership Resort Category; Javier Hernandez, president and CEO of El Nido, Palawan for Luxury Resort Category; Singh Preet Inder, general manager of San Benito Farm, Batangas for Wellness Resort Category; Governor Gwendolyn Fiel Garcia of Cebu Province and Governor Francisco Tinio Matugas for Governor of Surigao del Norte for Provincial Government category; Shalimar Hofer Tamano, regional director at the Department of Tourism for Government Service category, Krizette Laureta Chu, associate and travel editor at the Manila Bulletin and Mary Ann LL. Reyes, business columnist at Philippine Star for Print Media Category.

Others are RCM director Farid Schoucair, general manager of The Heritage Hotel for Deluxe Hotel category, Bernd Schneider, cluster general manager at Raffles and Fairmont Hotel for Luxury 5 Star Hotel category; and Michael Jaey Albaña, commercial director at Conrad Manila for Urban Luxury Hotel category.
