An infirmary and a housing project for officers and personnel of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte?
These projects may be realized under the plan of Davao del Norte Second District Rep. Alan R. Dujali, DPPF Corrections Head Chief Supt. Julie May C. Taguiam said on Thursday, April 8.
Taguiam said in a meeting last Monday, April 5, Congressman Dujali “informed the officers of his plan to build a P3-million infirmary project for CIW (Correctional Institute for Women)-Mindanao possibly next year and the plan for a Housing Project for DPPF officers and personnel.”
DPPF, then the Davao Penal Colony, has a land area of 30,000 hectares with a prison reservation of 8,000 hectares. It is under the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
In a statement, Taguiam said the DPPF officials visited Dujali to request an ambulance for the use of the prison farm.
“The good Solon positively replied to include in their request to PCSO (Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office) the ambulance needed by DPPF,” it said.
“The DPPF Regional Superintendent is grateful to the Honorable Congressman for allowing the PDLs (persons deprived of liberty) and the officers to be a recipient of various plans and projects of the 2nd Congressional District of Davao del Norte,” the DPFF stated.
It also pointed out that BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag has been supportive of “all plans, programs, and projects of both local and national agencies, especially for the welfare of PDLs and personnel of BuCor.”
