The Juans chalks up another Billboard chart milestone

The Juans

The Juans have made it onto another Billboard charts and this time at number one.

The pop-rock quintet debuted at Billboard’s LyricFind Global charts Thursday, March 18 2021.

This, on the strength of their album “Sirang Plaka” which is now sitting at the number one position of said charts.

This is a brand new achievement for The Juans Carl Guevarra, Japs Mendoza, Chael Adriano, RJ Cruz and Joshua Coronel. Recall that it was just over a month ago that the band notched its first Billboard chart appearance at the Next Big Sound listings. Only 3 other OPM artists have made it onto said charts—SB 19, Morisette Amon and just recently Pinoy Roots boyband ALAMAT.

The LyricFind Global charts is a metric for most searched song lyrics. According to the Billboards website, “searching for lyrics is easily one of the largest music discovery methods globally, with billions of annual requests made through our syndicated service alone,” said Wil Mills, Chief Revenue Officer of LyricFind.

On same website, it further explained that “lyrics are one of the ost searched terms on the internet and one of the primary ways fans engage with and discover music,” adding that essentially, the charts highlight “the fastest momentum gaining tracks in lyric search.”

LyricFind is the world’s leader in licensed lyrics, with data provided by over 4,000 publishers worldwide.

The Juans are sharing the their top listing week with artists such as “Driver’s License” singer Olivia Rodrigo & Julia Lester (No. 2), Doja Cat (No. 5), Alicia Keys and Nicki Minaj (No. 9) and Justin Bieber among others.

Asked what he thinks of their latest achievement, singer-keyboardist Carl Guevarra simply said, “we’re all surprised and we keep asking each other, ‘how did this happen?’

Our best guess for that is The Juans have a very supportive fan base (called Juanistas) and that after more than five years in the business, The Juans are getting better with their songwriting.

Guevarra added “Incidentally, this month marks the first year anniversary since “Sirang Plaka” was released last year March 2, 2020.”
