NBI arrests pseudo doctor for botched buttocks enhancement treatment
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a woman who has been allegedly performing buttocks enhancements when one of her “patients” complained that her buttocks became swollen after “treatment.”
The woman arrested for illegal practice of medicine was identified by NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric B. Distor on Wednesday, March 17, as Gerlon Sadsad of Mandaluyong City.
Sadsad was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the NBI’s Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) last March 12.
During the operation, the NBI found Sadsad in possession of used and unused syringes, needles, topical anesthesia, 0.9 percent sodium chloride, wooden spatula, alcohol swabs, kitchen wrap, gauze pad, and underpants. Distor said Sadsad was presented for inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor of Mandaluyong for violation for Republic Act No. 2382, the Medical Act of 1959, and estafa under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code.”
NBI probe showed that Sadsad performed “a botched injection treatment which resulted in inflammation and discoloration on the injected area” of the complainant who was not identified.
“Subject (Sadsad) made a subsequent treatment to the complainant, supposedly to remove the inflammation and discoloration, but no improvement was seen in complainant’s condition,” it said.
It also said that upon verification with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Sadsad “does not possess any license/authority to practice medicine.”
