A smaller, lighter cord free vacuum engineered for Asian homes

Dyson unveiled today the Dyson Digital Slim™ vacuum, which is 20% smaller and 30% lighter with no loss of suction power; a better machine designed for the Asian user.

James Dyson, Founder, and Chief Engineer shared, "To make a strong-performing vacuum, it must effectively capture fine dust and small debris and maintain constant powerful suction. In our latest machine, we set about going even further, seeking to condense our proprietary cleaning technologies, making our latest machine to date while refusing to sacrifice cleaning performance."

To come up with the latest machine, Dyson engineers conducted numerous studies on the different cleaning habits and the ergonomics behind cordless vacuuming.  Studies showed that Asian homeowners clean more frequently and that since most homes have hard floors, these types of floors demand superior fine dust pick-up for that barefoot clean most Asians strive for.   Hence, the Dyson Digital Slim, a lighter, yet powerful machine that can withstand frequent cleaning was made.  The Dyson Digital Slim also comes with a shorter wand so those with a smaller physique can easily maneuver the device.

Although the Dyson Digital Slim is smaller and lighter, this vacuum has the high performing technology features of a Dyson V11 cord-free vacuum. Here are its key features:
1. A re-engineered soft roller cleaner head and a smoother air flow path - instead of using adhesive, the soft carbon fibre filament and felt are stitched on the roller head.  This makes the Slim Fluffy cleaner head 40% lighter.  A re-engineered airflow path through the cleaner head creates a more direct, even route for the airflow from the floor into the neck of the cleaner head.  The result: a better edge cleaning performance.
 2.  A lighter body and smaller wand - while the Dyson V11's main body is made up of 2 parts, the Dyson Digital Slim's main body comes in one piece, with seals, rivets and the thickness of walls all paired down to achieve weight reduction.  In addition, the wand is 15% shorter and 6.3 mm thinner compared to the Dyson V11 series.
3. A customized Hyperdymium motor - spinning up to 120,000rpm, the Dyson Hyperdymium creates a powerful suction. The ceramic shaft is cured at 1,600°C to make it three times harder than steel, yet with half the density.
4. A re-designed scrolled cyclones -  the machine is equipped with 11 re-designed scrolled cyclones to ensure removal of more dust and dirt from the airflow. There is a wider radius at the entry point to reduce energy loss.  Because of its properly functioning cyclones, there is no loss of suction power.
5. Advanced machine filtration - the Dyson Digital Slim has an airtight gasket around the cyclone assembly and a pressurized rubber seal around the advanced filter. Its filtration system captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns, expelling clean air.
6. LCD screen - just like the V11, the Digital Slim has an intelligent LCD screen that shows the cleaning mode, remaining run time, filter maintenance reminders and blockage reports.
7. Swappable battery - the Digital Slim features a removable battery that can run for up to 40 minutes in eco mode on hard floors, and up to 5 minutes in boost mode.
8. Easy maintenance - its slim, clear bin has a smooth, easier dirt ejection system. The bin, pre/post motor filter and crevice tool are all washable.

The Dyson Digital Slim vacuum is now available at www.dyson.ph and Dyson Demo Stores at Greenbelt 5, The Podium, SM Aura Premier, SM Mall of Asia and major electrical department stores.
