IBP calls lawyers to participate in Feb. 27 chapter elections
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) has encouraged all lawyers to participate in its biennial chapter elections set February 27 despite the corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Those elected will serve a two-year term from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2023, the IBP said in a statement.
It said lawyers are allowed to cast their votes online which “will encourage greater participation and involvement of Filipino lawyers in IBP and Chapter affairs.”
It said it has instructed its chapters “to ensure that the guidelines and instructions regarding online voting are widely disseminated and to facilitate online voting.”
“Members of good standing (updated membership dues as of Feb. 10, 2021) who are qualified to vote are to notify their IBP Chapters not later than Feb. 22, 2021, of their intention to vote online and provide the required identification, email address, and contact number for easy verification,” it advised.
In a memorandum dated Nov. 16, 2020 addressed to IBP chapter presidents and officers, IBP National President Domingo Cayosa said the 24th IBP Board of Governors has approved the guidelines for the conduct of elections this year.
One of the approved guidelines is that “votes may be cast physically, or electronically by mail,” he said.
