Palace names new DOJ undersecretary, 24 prosecutors

After being vacant for three months, a junior associate of the law firm of Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea was appointed undersecretary at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Malacanang has approved the appointment of lawyer Jon Paulo Salvahan as DOJ undersecretary. He filled the post vacated by former DOJ spokesman and Undersecretary Markk Perete who resigned last Oct. 1.

“We’ll review the distribution of areas of responsibility ASAP (as soon as possible),” Guevarra assured.

Salvahan was a junior partner at Medialdea, Bella, and Suarez law firm. It was the same law firm of Guevarra when it was known as the Medialdea, Ata, Bello, Guevarra and Suarez law firm.

Salvahan graduated with a degree in political science at the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila in 2006, and from the Ateneo de Manila University Law School in 2010.

Malacanang also approved the appointments of 24 prosecutors at the DOJ. They are:

  2. Yasay, Francisa Palayaban - Prosecutor I, Isabela
  3. Blancia, Andrei Marion Barcelona - Prosecutor II, Las Pinas City
  4. Lim, Anne Grace Mendoza - Prosecutor III, Manila
  5. Miel, Ethel Soria - Prosecutor III, Cebu
  6. Regual, Samichael Nostradamus Uybengkee - Prosecutor II, Cagayan de Oro City
  7. Rudas, Vincent Comaling - Prosecutor II, Maasin City
  8. Generalao-Hilario, Jeanilyn Grace D - Prosecutor II, General Santos City
  9. Aranas, David Anthony Baligod - Prosecutor II, Quezon City
  10. Poblete, Aristotle Taguinod - City Prosecutor of Palayan City
