A reason to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival

September is the month many gear up for the holidays. And for the Filipino-Chinese community, this month is the time to prepare for the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, which will take place on Oct. 1 this year. Based on Chinese tradition, the festival is held in celebration of the autumn equinox and the moon, when it is believed to be at its roundest. Its shape is a symbol for unity, harmony, and love. While we have yet to see how the festival will happen this year due to the pandemic, families can still celebrate it at home with the festival’s sweetest star—the mooncakes.
For its second year, Hong Kong MX Mooncakes is back in Manila, thanks to its official Philippine distributor Double Down Import and Export, Inc. The brand brings its well-loved mooncake flavors and some new ones to spice up your holiday feast.

Duo flavors, double complexity
The Lava Custard Mooncake utilizes the unique “double-bake” technique to produce a one-of-a-kind texture in a mooncake. This year, Hong Kong MX Mooncakes is introducing Lava Duet Mooncake set to families, which includes two flavors namely the signature Lava Custard and delectable Lava Chocolate. The Custard Twins Mooncake is also back with both the classic and the lava variety.

A new look for a classic flavor
Meanwhile, the flagship products, White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Two Egg Yolks and Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Two Egg Yolk, are also available. The new gift box packaging adds a layer of sophistication and magnificence for these alluring classics, making it a perfect gift as well.

Low sugar mooncake series for the health-conscious individual
Because the Mid-Autumn Mooncake Festival is a celebration for everyone, the brand will also be offering the specially created Low Sugar Mooncake series. The Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Egg Yolk comes in boxes of six mooncakes, with each bite exploding with the same rich and memorable flavors.

Hong Kong MX Mooncakes is available in e-commerce giants Lazada and Shopee as well as trusted food delivery apps FoodPanda and GrabMart. A pop-up store will also be set up at the SM Mall of Asia Level 1 G/F Main Mall in front of Watsons until Oct. 4.
