BTr awards P20-B T-bills, 91-day fetches 1.121%

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr)  fully awarded yesterday bids for treasury bills yesterday's auction. The three- and six-month notes and one-year papers fetched average rates of 1.121 percent, 1.601 percent and 1.858 percent, respectively.

The auction was more than three-times oversubscribed with total offers reaching P71.9 billion, prompting the Treasury to double the size of 91-day securities to P4 billion.

 With the decision, the national government raised a total of P22 billion, exceeding the P20 billion initial offer.  National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said “there was still good liquidity as shown by high bids offered. But given expectations for a pause of policy rates, there was a slight movement in one-year.”(
