VIRAL: Dead wife’s love letter to husband before she passed away

He only got to open the note two weeks after her death

Fifteen years together, Nestor Flores Mangila Jr. and Gladys Mangila have built a wonderful family with two of their beautiful daughters. Unfortunately, Gladys succumbed to cancer on Aug. 22. Still mourning her passing, Nestor discovered a note she composed for him in December 2019 on her phone, which hadn't been able to unlock it until recently.

He was only able to post it on Facebook about a week after he was able to open it. “This is very personal but I wanted to share it with all of you. She wrote the note on her iPhone last December 2019. I was able to unlock it a week ago."

The post included screenshots of Gladys’ letter, including a link to the Disney Pixar’s UP movie soundtrack “Married Life.” “Just like the movie, the wife died first. We used to watch the movie together with our daughters and lagi niyang sinasabi na same sila ni Ellie (she used to say that
she’s the same with Ellie),” the post said.

Nestor also shared that this note is “the saddest and most beautiful letter/note I've received from you. Ayaw tumigil ng luha ko nung mabasa ko ito (My tears couldn’t stop falling when I read this). Akala ko hindi ko ma-uunlock (I thought I won’t be able to unlock this), Nay! Maraming salamat din sa lahat (Thank you for everything), some day things will get better, magiging okay din ako—kami (we will be okay).”

The touching note from Gladys ends with thanking and reassuring Nestor, “Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one.”
