Chocolate makes everything better
In the Philippines, Christmas will not be complete without having a taste of puto bumbong and bibingka. And as we're doing holiday shenanigans a little different this year, why not put a little spin on our favorite seasonal delicacy by adding chocolate on them?
Serving joy and optimism this season is chocolate spread brand Nutella, as it brings back its all-day breakfast truck back in the metro. Together with confectionery brand Via Mare, the brands whip up puto bumbong and bibingka with a delicious, decadent twist.
"Every year, our bibingka and puto bumbong stand for the Paskong Pinoy spirit. It’s a dish our patrons hold near and dear to their hearts," Ramon S. Roño, general manager of Via Mare Corporation, says. "With the partnership of Nutella, another brand close to everyone’s hearts, we’re excited to be able to serve our most beloved dish in a new way. A new twist to a Filipino classic. During unprecedented times like this, we’re glad to be able to give both new and old patrons a merry and bright Christmas experience."
The Nutella truck kicked-off at the start of December and will be traveling throughout the holidays, serving Bibingka and Puto Bumbong con Nutella at Town and Country Executive Village (Dec. 17), Forbes Town, Bonifacio Global City (Dec.18), and Eastwood Mall Open Park (Dec. 19 and 20).
“We want Filipinos to wake up happy, and breakfast is a big factor so we want to add something new to their traditional breakfast fare by introducing new pairings," says Nutella’s regional marketing head Cheryl Que. "We are starting off this Christmas season with bibingka and puto bumbong, and soon we will be going around the Philippines to make more interesting pairings that will incorporate the regional Filipino culture."
Just imagine bibingka and puto bumbong topped with Nutella. It's going to be a good morning indeed!
