72 aspirants vie for seats at CA, Sandiganbayan, CTA

Seventy-two aspirants are vying for vacant seats at the Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).

Supreme Court (SC) Clerk of Court and Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) Ex Officio Secretary Edgar Aricheta announced in that it will be holding online interviews to 51 of the candidates this November and in December and January.

Those who are scheduled for interview on Nov. 23, 25 and 27 are Pauline Grace Bunol-Alfuente, Lourdes Maita Cascolan-Andres, Lorna Francisca Chua Cheng, Mercedito Dadole-Ygnacio, Lyn Ebora-Chacha, Cyclamen Fernandez, Vicky Fernandez, Caridad Galvez, Rogelio Largo, Mirushealla Manzanero-Casino, Ana Marie Mas, and Phoeve Meer.

Interviews have also been set on Dec. 2, 4, 9, 11, 14, 16, and 18.

Those who will be interviewed this December are Johnmuel Romano, Lily Ann Padaen, Elma Rafallo-Lingan, Gina Cenit-Escoto, Paz Esperanza Cortes, Maria Celestina Cruz-Mangrobang, Maximo De Leon, Mary Josephone Lazaro, Emelio Rodolfo Legaspi III, Arthur Malabaguio, Robert Victor Marcon, Ronald Chua, Amado Pablo Dimayuga, Ma. Antonia Edita Dizon, Maria Milagros Fernan-Cayosa, Maria Paz Reyes-Yson, Marilou Runes-Tamang, Philip Aguinaldo, Rowena Apao-Adlawan, Amy Ana De Villa-Rosero, Jacinto Fajardo Jr., Dorcas Ferriols-Perez, Evelyn Gamotin-Nery, Mia Joy Oallares-Cawed, Antonio Olivete, Jose Marie Quimboy, Emmanuel Silva, and Jocelyn Solis-Reyes.

The candidates who will be interviewed on Jan. 13, 15 and 18 are Corazon Ferrer-Flores, John Lee, Perpetuo Lucero Jr., John Emmanuel Madamba, Marian Ivy Reyes-Fajardo, Jose Carlito Montenegro, Jennifer Joy Ong, Michael Ong, Rodolgo Noel Quimbo and Mark Anthony Tamayo.

The other 21 candidates still have valid previous interviews and they are Ma. Theresa Aban-Camannong, Racquelen Abary-Vasquez, Joeffre Acebido, Selma Alaras, Eleuterio Bathan, Jose Bautista Jr., Danilo Cruz, Madonna Echiverri, Carolina Icasiano-Sison, Catherine Manodon, Rosalyn Mislos-Loja, Acerey Pacheco, Vilma Pauig, Roberto Quiroz, Emmanuel Recalde, Alfonzo Ruiz II, Emily San Gaspar-Gito, Rowena Nieves Tan, Buenaventura Albert Tenorio Jr., Omar Viola, and Meriathe Pacita Zuraek.

Meanwhile, Aricheta told the public that any citizen “may submit a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid applicants.”

There are currently six vacant seats at the CA due to the retirement of Justices Luisa Padilla and Jane Aurora Lantion as well as the promotions to the Supreme Court (CA) of Justices Rodil Zalameda, Edgardo Delos Santos, Mario Lopez, and Samuel Gaerlan.

A seat became vacant at the Sandiganayan due to the passing of Justice Reynaldo Cruz back in February 21.

There are two open spots at the CTA due to the retirements of Justices Cielito Mindaro-Grulla and Esperanza Fabon-Victorino.
