LOOK: Arci Muñoz completes basic military training

Actress-singer Arci Muñoz couldn't help but feel proud that she's now Sergeant Ramona Cecilia Datuin Muñoz having completed her training as Air Force reservist.

She happily shared her latest milestone on Instagram.

"I just want to say I’m very proud of myself for finishing such a great feat. Training with the military was really tough specially with a pandemic looming. I did things I didn’t know I would (and could). Getting here hasn’t been traversed overnight; although what I went through is nothing compared to my colleagues—I feel great admiration for them," she wrote as caption to series of photos of her taken during training.

The 31-year-old star said she is "humbled" with her experience allowing her "renewed self-respect."

"That being said, I hope that I’ll never have to use what I learned for violence instead be an inspiration to many to have a sense of comradeship so we can all live in peace," she declared.

She ended her post by promising that she will forever cherish and hold on to the core values that the institution instilled in her. 

"I will remain a snappy composure and continue to serve in the best interests of my nation."

Note that among the picture is a certificate of completion, which is presented to Arci for having "satisfactorily completed the Program of Instruction (POI) of Special Basic Citizen Military Training (SBCMT) CL-2020 conducted at Headquarters 1st Air Reserve Center, Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City."

Meanwhile, the official Facebook page of the Air Force Reserve Command also shared Arci's new achievement.

It said: "Sgt. Muñoz PAFR, under the supervision of 1st Air Reserve Center, learned the basic knowledge and skills of soldiery. For thirty training days, she underwent HADR training, marksmanship training, Obstacle Course, Field Training Exercise (FTX) and other activities that prepared her for her future roles as a Reservist of the Philippine Air Force."

She is not the first celebrity to join the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as reservist.

Last July, beauty queen and first Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Winwyn Marquez traded her high heels for boots as she took basic citizen military training to become a Philippine Navy reservist.

While Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Matteo Guidicelli, Gerald Anderson, among others, have joined as well.
