Winwyn Marquez has traded high heels for boots as she takes basic citizen military training to become a Philippine Navy reservist.
The 28-year-old beauty queen posted on Instagram photos of her first day of training.
In the caption, Winwyn revealed she was appointed president of the class.
“BCMC CLASS 01 2020 – Class President, Marquez. Hooyah!!
#PhNavyReserveForce,” she wrote. “Congrats sa lahat! Class 01 lets do this.”
Amid the pandemic, she assured her fans and followers that “strict protocol was followed” and that “everyone was required to do a rapid test before anything else.”
Winwyn is among celebrities who have enlisted as military reservists in recent years.
The daughter of industry veterans Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno started out in showbiz as a performer in 2010, then dabbled in acting.
In 2017, she made history as the first Filipina to join and win Reina Hispanoamericana competition.
