P/$ rate closes at P48.48/$1

The peso closed  higher  at  P48.48  to the US dollar  Friday   from  P48.60  the previous day.  The weighted  average rate appreciated  to  P48.587   from P48.589. Total volume amounted to $889.6  million, according to the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
