Malacanang okays appointments at PPA, NPS

Malacanang has approved the appointments of seven officials at the Parole and Probation Administration (PPA).

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Wednesday, Sept. 23, he has received the names of the PPA officials whose appointments have been approved by the Palace.

He said these new officials include four with the rank of Director II and they are Amy Helconida Haber Sarmiento, Ma. Chona Montellano Camacho, Belinda Calip Zafra, and Shirley Lavarro Fernandez.

The other two have Director I, namely, Frances Magnaan and Wilfred Dang-Ao Gonnay.

The PPA which is under the Department of Justice (DOJ) is tasked to administer the country’s parole and probation system.

Aside from the PPA, Guevarra said Malacanang also approved the appointments of 23 prosecutors at the DOJ.

The 23 prosecutors will be posted to various posts of the DOJ’s National Prosecution Service (NPS) nationwide.

The newly-appointed prosecutors are:
