PAO's Acosta warns public vs scams using her name

Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta on Tuesday warned the public against scams that use her name.

Acosta said she has already asked PAO investigators to look into these scams.

“Pina-investigate ko na (I had it investigated),” she said in a text message.

Acosta has already posted on her Facebook page a scam that has been circulating in public through text messaging.

The message claimed that “I’m ATTY PERSIDA ACOSTA” and it was sent as “assistance in GMA7.”

“Dahil ber’month na tayo mga Kapuso, namimigay kami ng maagang pamasko gamit ang 500/sim card# (Because its the bermonths we are having early Christmas giveaways. U are received (sic) Php150,000.00,” the message read.

The message also asked the receiver to send his or her address, age, name, work, and status.

Acosta warned the public in her Facebook page that this message is “using my name for fraudulent schemes.”

“Scam po ito (This is a scam). Please do not be deceived,” she advised.
