WTFu (What the FU)
Several years ago, Khel Cayetano grabbed every opportunity to appear on independent gay films.
He recalls, “I guess, dapat mas naging “Matiyaga” pa ako kasi when I did indie film before mabilis ako mapaghinaan ng loob and konting rejections lang sobrang dinadamdam ko na."
"Kasi you have to attend auditions and screenings for a role. Pag di ako nakukuha feeling ko kaagad, 'ay baka di para sakin talaga to.' If before, I already have the mindset I have right now, most probably kahit papano may mga naachieve na ko and nagkaroon na ng magagandang projects," he added (baka may ma-achieve tayo together bro!).
He then decided to leave the film industry and join the corporate world (at muntikan nang maging Miss World!).
But recently he got an offer to act again in a BL series, produced and directed by Lex Bonife (so gay film pa rin talaga ang calling!)
“Challenging part today is mahirap makipag kompetensya sa mga bata. I’m not getting any younger and most directors and casting agents prefer the young ones over those who are already in their early 30s," Khel shares.
"I have messaged a lot of directors to express my interest if they have upcoming projects or audition pero sa ngayon si Direk Lex lang talaga yung nakapagbigay sakin ng solid answer. What’s fulfilling about it is that, magagawa ko na ulit yung bagay na feeling ko forte ko. Iba kasi pag passion mo e, di ka napapagod at everyday na ginagawa mo siya parang fulfilling talaga."

Aside from his comeback, The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila Mass Communications graduate also started vlogging (akala ko love for boylets!).
“I have always wanted to be in front of the camera and to perform in public. That’s why I took mass communications kasi ever since, gusto ko maging newscaster or a documentary show host and to act either sa theater or TV. Pero when I graduated, ang hirap humanap ng work sa media as in! And yun nga, the struggle is real talaga sa paghanap ng projects especially hindi naman ako ganun ka stand out. With this platform, sa YouTube, in a way, it gives me the experience of doing all of those things. Like hosting, magsabi ng mga opinion ko about things, to feature my interests, nakakapag entertain ng tao and sa pag tanda ko, may mga mababalikan akong memories ng mga nagawa ko,” Khel says (pang 'MMK' yung pagtanda with memories ha!)
Khel had a short-lived romance with fellow gay vlogger, Steven Bansil. (baklaan na!)
“When you’re a vlogger kasi it’s like signing a deal na your life will now be a public property. It’s like giving them the authority to say a lot of things about your life. Kasi, it’s your job as vlogger e, you have to create content and talagang ma-o-open mo yung mga personal stuff mo about your life. And when it involves your relationship or love life, it gets messy. Kasi in a way, you will be affected by their comments. Buti sana kung positive lang e, kaso you really cannot please everyone. So, I guess the greatest lesson of having a relationship with a fellow vlogger, don’t make everything public or might as well don’t make it public at all, kasi mas tahimik. “ Khel says. With his opportunities in filmmaking and vlogging, the Human Resource Department Officer, wants to try his luck again in the entertainment industry (paano if try daw ulit kayo ni steven? Chos!).
“Dun muna tayo sa medyo realistic no?(laughs) have been a fan of BL series since 2016. Ngayon, sa pinas nauuso na din siya. A lot of producers and directors are doing it now. Salamat ulit kay Direk Lex kasi binigyan nya ko ng BL Series na project, which is my first tapos lead role pa. Ang dream ko sana is magkaroon ako ng mainstream BL series project na magkakaroon ako ng ka love team. Nakakatawa and ang babaw pero diba ang sarap talaga mag-karoon ng ka love team? Hahaha Kala mo ang bata pa e no?” (laughs) Khel quips (naku pag tayo ang naging love team, tawag satin: FU-KheL! Afraid!)
