“We continue to encourage IBP members to be good examples of cooperation and proper compliance with rules and best practices meant to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” said IBP President Domingo Egon Cayosa.
Cayosa made the statement in response to viral online photos of lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon who was seen donating goods to frontliners.
However, the photos showed Gadon's mask attached to his transparent face shield contrary to the recommended use.
“We have reminded lawyers to observe precautionary measures and prescribed protocols,” Cayosa said.
“Sometimes a lawyer fails, forgets, commits a mistake, or flaunts the improper,” he added.
Cayosa also commended “all lawyers who have generously responded to the call to help.”
“IBP and Filipino lawyers have gone beyond their lawyering to concretely help persons, communities, and our country survive the pandemic,” he added.
