SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that a 10-hour power interruption will hit 12 areas in La Union and Pangasinan on Saturday, April 7.
The power outage will begin at 6 a.m. and affect consumers of the entire La Union Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LUELCO) franchise area.
This covers the towns of Aringay, Caba, Agoo, Tubao, Pugo, Sto. Tomas, Rosario, and some parts of Bauang, all in La Union.
The power interruption will also affect the towns of Sison, Pozzurubio, San Fabian, and San Jacinto in Pangasinan.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP’s North Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the power shutdown in these areas will give way to preventive maintenance of the Bauang-San Fabian 69 KV distribution lines, and the replacement of critically rotten-wood poles.
Electricity will be back on immediately after work completion by 4 p.m., she said.
