BUTUAN CITY - Another moderately strong earthquake struck Cotabato province early Friday morning.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) traced the origin of the 4.6-magnitude earthquake only 13 kilometers (km) southwest of Makilala town, North Cotabato province – just nearby the epicenter of the 6.3-magnitude quake last October 16, 2019 in Tulunan town.
The new tremor had a depth of 14 km, it said.
Intensity IV was also registered in nearby city of Kidapawan, also of that same province.
At 3:56 a.m. on the same day (Nov. 1), another 3.9 magnitude earthquake was registered and its epicenter was plotted 25 km northeast of Makilala town of that same province, with a depth of 18 km, Phivolcs also said, in its latest bulletin.
Another 2.8 magnitude tremor was recorded at 4:18 a.m. on the same day (Nov. 1) and its epicenter was located 14 km northwest of that same town and province, with a depth of 22 km, the state agency said.
The new three tremors were tectonic in origin, it said.
In its latest bulletin, no aftershocks were raised by the state agency.
