A Chinese man died after falling from the 9th floor of a hotel in Ermita, Manila to an adjacent church on Thursday morning.
The fatality, identified as Xia Xiaocheng, 32, was found sprawled on his back and drenched in his own blood at the chilling deck at the 5th level of The Cathedral of Praises along General Luna Street.

Prior to this, bystanders told the Manila Bulletin that they last saw the victim at the swimming pool area of The Pearl Hotel Manila, which is just beside the above-mentioned church, at around 9 a.m. on Jan. 24.
Authorities from the Manila Police District (MPD) and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) arrived at the crime scene at about 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
It was only a few minutes before noon when the severely broken body of Xia was recovered and brought to Archangel Funeral Homes.
Further investigation is underway to determine the real cause of the incident. (With a report from Michella Guillang)
