Remains of OFW murdered in South Korea now with loved ones in Iloilo

By Roy Mabasa The remains of an overseas Filipino worker murdered in South Korea two years ago are now with his loved ones in Iloilo, the Philippine government announced today. (MANILA BULLETIN) (MANILA BULLETIN) In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs said the remains of Angelo Claveria were received this morning by his family in their hometown in the municipality of Cabatuan. Initial findings showed that Claveria’s skeletal remains were discovered inside a septic tank of a paint factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, outside Seoul in April. Claveria was reported missing more than two years ago. The remains of the 34-year-old factory worker were positively identified early this month after DNA testing. South Korea probers said Claveria was believed to have been murdered by a Filipino co-worker who is now the subject of a coordinated manhunt by police authorities.
