Aside from the usual live broadcast of Marites University on YouTube, our production team also sets taping schedules for interviews with celebrities.(masyadong masisipag!) Unfortunately, I can't join them in the tapings because of my other hosting commitment. (feeling busy?!) I am just available for the live airing. (o baka attitude host lang ako!) But when I learned that Gelli De Belen would be in the taping, I tried to adjust my schedule, but I was only able to arrive during their last gap! (so attitude talaga ako?!)

Good thing we still had the chance to activate our usual “chikahan mode.” I really love working with Ateng Gelli. (sure na waley attitude!) It was just so strange that we could not remember the province of our recent hosting gig together. (laugh talaga kami! sign of aging ba ito?!)

Gelli visited the show to promote her film  Outside de Familia, in which she stars with Ruby Ruiz, Sheila Francisco, and Matet de Leon. (now showing na yan!) “Simple lang po yung movie, pero may kurot sa puso.” (parang may gusto akong kurutin sa ilong! Di ba Ateng?!)

Of course, the show talked about her 28 years of married life with Ariel Rivera. “Grateful lang talaga ako naging swak kami ni Ariel. Feeling ko sya yung right person for me. Feeling ko rin yung excitement, that’s fleeting eh. Malalim kasi yung pinagsamahan namin. He is my home. “ (may forever!)

Their sons Joaquin and Julio are currently studying in Toronto, Canada, while manning their business: Lolo Ben’s Biko (na recipe ng tatay ni Ariel ha!), which was Gelli’s idea to gain extra income during the pandemic. “Kung anuman yung mga pangarap nila, gusto namin matupad at magawa nila nang maayos. I want them to become the best versions of themselves, na they become really great men with integrity. Tapos yung magkaroon sila ng maayos na pamilya.” (pengeng biko!)

Gelli acknowledges the big change in the landscape of the entertainment industry, and she is exerting efforts to at least be in the loop. Aside from her usual showbiz commitments, she also has her vlog: Just Gellie. (mag collab tayo!)

“I just want to be able to work and still do what  I love to do, which is acting, hosting… everything!” says Gelli. (gawa tayo na ng show!
