Makeup artist Gela Laurel shares how to achieve the right balance of matte and dewy makeup

Maja Salvador, being the quite the performer that she is, needs to make sure her looks stand out when she goes on stage.

One of her latest looks is by makeup artist Gela Laurel, where she matched Salvador's shimmer satin suit set in royal purple with her eyes.

She kept Salvador's whole makeup look clean and dewy with Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter and Pillow Talk Face Palette. Blush was from M.A.C. Cosmetics, and was applied under her cheekbones for added contouring. Focus was given to the eyes with Natasha Denona 28 Purple-Blue Eyeshadow Palette to achieve that smokey look in ombre purple. Laurel also lined her eyes with Teviant Liquid Eyeliner, sealing the look with Lisa Eldridge Lipstick in Velvet Affair in matte finish.

Laurel shares these tips, "I like to blend creams on top of a lightly applied base to achieve that glow. Also—blend, blend, blend! I also love pairing a matte lip with dewy makeup for a nice balance."
