Regional isolation facility in La Union now ready to accommodate COVID-19 patients
PANGASINAN ----The newly-completed regional isolation facility in La Union is now ready to accommodate coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.

The facility includes 50 cubicles and one nurses' station. Eight nurses and two utility personnel were hired to manage the facility. An attending physician from the Department of Health - Center for Health Development Region 1 will attend to the needs of the patients on a scheduled basis.
The Regional Task Force also requested eight for eight Philippine National Police personnel and a Bureau of Fire Protection Decontamination (BFP Decon) Team to be on a twenty-four (24)-hour shift duty.
DPWH Regional Information Officer Esperanza Tinaza said the regional isolation facility is located at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 1 compound, Regional Equipment Service, Barangay Acao, Bauang, La Union .
The facility was turned over to the Regional Task Force (RTF) and was inaugurated on September 16, 2020,
It can now accommodate COVID-19 patients from the provinces within the region and can be used by different regional line agencies needing the facility.
The facility will aid in the fast recovery of the patients and contribute to the reduction of COVID-19 cases in the province.
The RTF and PGLU will be responsible for the full operationalization and management of the facility.
Initially, the Provincial government of La Union will provide necessary equipment and services such as furniture and fixtures, sleeping kits, communication materials, food, logistical requirements, laundry, janitorial, and other significant services to accommodate the needs of COVID-19 patients. A swab booth is also installed in the facility.
The facility is an existing DPWH building which was converted into an isolation facility for COVID-19 patients.
