Marikina LGU brings gov't services closer to Marikeños
Through coordination between the local government of Marikina City and the office of the city's First District Rep. Maan Teodoro, a one-stop shop for various government services was launched at the Marikina Sports Center (MSC) on Thursday, August 8.
The one-stop shop, dubbed “Maasahan Todo-Serbisyo Caravan," was made possible through the initiative of Rep. Teodoro.
The caravan aims to bring government services closer to Marikeños and provide them with fast and easy processing of documents from various government institutions.
“Gusto po namin ni Mayor Marcy na matulungan ang lahat (Marikeño) na mapadali ang pagproseso sa mga government requirements (We want to help all Marikina residents to make the processing of their government requirements easier),” Rep. Teodoro said.
“Nag-imbita po tayo ng mga national government agencies para maging one-stop shop para sa pagproseso at pagkuha ng mga dokumento o requirements (We have invited national government agencies to serve as a one-stop shop for processing and obtaining documents or requirements),” she added.
Among the government agencies that participated in the caravan were the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Pag-IBIG Fund, Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), and PhilHealth.
Rep. Teodoro stated that the services provided for SSS include updating member data, issuing SSS numbers, registrations, payments, and assistance for online loan applications (salary loan, pension loan, loan restructuring, disbursement account, and benefits claim).
For GSIS, the services provided include membership inquiries, claims, loan inquiries, and verifications, among others.
Pag-IBIG members and others who applied were offered member registration, verification and updating of records, filing of loans, MP2 enrollment, issuance of loyalty cards, and other services.
The PNP provided police clearance and consultations, while the PAO offered free legal consultations. PhilHealth, LTO, and PSA also offered assistance in processing necessary documents.
Meanwhile, Mayor Marcy Teodoro expressed gratitude to the government agencies that participated in the caravan.
The mayor also vowed to continue providing the people of Marikina with accessible government services.
