“We are always ready and prepared to help,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dick Gordon said in a statement.

Gordon reiterated the importance of practicing the 4Ps: “Predict, Plan, Prepare, Practice” as a way to be ready for disasters.

“Our RC143 volunteers in the affected area and response vehicles are ready to be deployed,” Gordon said. “It is better to be over-prepared in times of crisis,” he added.

Gordon noted that PRC’s 143 volunteers, staff, assets, and resources are “currently in place” and can be mobilized instantly --- should a massive pre-emptive evacuation occur.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Kanlaon Volcano erupted at 6:51 p.m. on June 3.
