An honest couple returned parcels of a package to its owner that a delivery motorcycle rider accidentally dropped along the way.

William Bulambao, 47, and Mylene Versoza, 46, were onboard their motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon heading towards Road 10 near Moriones in Tondo, Manila, when they saw a package that was accidentally dropped by a motorcycle rider travelling ahead of them.

“Si rider yung magdedeliver ng package nalaglag po yung package niya. Dire-diretso lang po si rider.  Ngayon ang ginawa po namin pinulot namin. Hinabol po namin si rider, hindi po namin siya naabutan. Ang ginawa namin may contact naman pala pinuntahan na lang namin (The rider accidentally dropped the package along his way. We picked up the package and tried to reach the rider, however, we did not reach him. Since the contact information was written in the package, we delivered it on the address written.)” Versoza told Manila Bulletin.

Versoza said since the contact information is written in the package, as well as the price, which according to her is quite expensive, they first thought that the lost package will be charged to the rider.

“Since napupunta naman kami ng Intramuros sabi ko dito lang pala sa Manila Bulletin i-ano na natin idrop na natin yung package kasi kawawa yung rider possible sa kanya machacharge 'yun (Since we often went in the area in Manila Bulletin, Intramuros, we can dropped by the package because it will be charged on the rider),” she added.

 “Actually, nagtanong tanong pa kami sa mga kasabayan niyang rider, yung dalawa rider buti naman po yung dalawa naging honest rin po na hindi rin sa kanila ‘yun (We also asked the other riders, fortunately, the two rider we asked are honest that the package was not from them),” she said.

According to Versoza, as they returned the package to the owner, they called the rider to inform him that the package was safely delivered.

“Umiiyak nga sa akin kanina yung rider, hinanap niya pumunta siya sa mga baranggay pinapa-check niya sa CCTV kung sino nakapulot.  Hindi raw po kasi niya napansin, ang inadvise na lang namin sa kanya sa susunod ingatan mo yung mga packages na dinadala niya (The rider is crying, he went to baranggay to check the CCTV on who possible picked up the package. He did not notice that the package was lost. We advised him to safely secure his packages next time),” Versoza said.

Versoza said that thankfully all those people they asked along the way were honest as they successfully delivered the package to the rightful owner.
