NUEVA ECIJA — Typical of a current frontrunner, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. was warmly welcomed during his visit Sunday, December 5 in San Jose, Nueva Ecija.

Initially planned as a simple meeting, Marcos admits he was surprised by the turnout of people of the provinces 3rd class component city.

“Ang akala ko magkakaroon ng maliit na miting, ginulat niyo naman ako, malayo pa lang ako kita na sa helicopter pulang pula (I though there will only be a small meeting, but you surprised me, I can see from the helicopter there were lots of red),“ Marcos said, referring to his official political color.

Ana Fe Austria Tupil, a housewife and resident of Burgos, Sto Domingo said she patiently waited for the arrival of Marcos on Sunday.

“Di na namin alintana iyong init pagod sa paghihintay at pag aabang kay BBM, kahit matatanda nagtiyaga lang at maparamdam kay BBM ang suporta at pagmamahal naming mga Novo Ecijanos (We did not mind the heat and weariness in waiting for BBM, even the old patiently waited just for them to make BBM feel the support and love of Novo Ecijanos),” Tupil told Manila Bulletin.

Tupil said farmers in their area are hoping for a Marcos presidency come next year’s elections.

“Kasi Po noong time ni president Marcos, ayon sa mga kwento ng matatanda dito sa amin at mga magulang ko po maganda pamamalakad ng pamilyang Marcos, lahat ng magsasaka ay natutuwa kaya swerte daw ulit ang magsasaka pag nanalo si BBM, maitutuloy ung ginawa ng ama nya noon na pagmamahal sa mga magsasaka,” said Tupil.

The group of Tupil assured to continue their support until the day of the election.
