Winter Wonderland is Zamboanga City's 2021 Christmas theme

Rains ushered in the start of the Christmas season in Zamboanga City through the traditional switch-on ceremony of the Zamboanga City Hall Thursday, December 2.

The Zamboanga City Hall was glowing with thousands of fairy lights, fashioned into snowflakes in a display aptly titled “Winter Wonderland.”

In her speech, Climaco said the ceremony is her 9th and last program to open the city’s holiday season before she steps down as mayor in June 2022. Fake snow fell on dozens of umbrella-carrying spectators and visitors composed of government personnel, military and police officials. The local government spent P2.5-million for this year’s Christmas display which also included lights and Christmas decorations at the Plaza Rizal, Plaza Pershing, Paseo del Mar, the small gardens surrounding City Hall, and the Zamboanga’s main thoroughfares.
