QC COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 3 percent, lowest this year

The Quezon City government announced on Thursday, Nov. 17, that the city's COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to three percent, which is the lowest this year.

This is based on reports from the OCTA Research Group and the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) for Nov.9 to Nov. 15.

The rate is one percent lower than the four percent recorded on Nov. 2 to 8, which is also below the five percent standard of the World Health Organization (WHO) for infected individuals.

For the average daily cases, the rate went higher to 139 compared to the 104 cases on Nov. 2 to 8.

Meanwhile, the reproduction number increased to 0.64 percent from the 0.38 record, and the average daily attack rate (ADAR) also rose to 4.37 from 3.27.

Residents were urged to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to continue observing health and safety protocols.

The local government recorded 1,051 active cases in the city or 0.59 percent of the 178,900 total cases as of Nov. 17.

Out of the total tally, 176,249 (98.52 percent) individuals have already recovered.
