A special task force was formed by the Eastern Police District (EPD) on Monday to fast-track the investigation on the drive-by shooting that killed two men and wounded a woman in Mandaluyong City on Sunday.
EPD Director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba created Special Investigation Task Group Yulo (SITG-Yulo) which is now studying the trajectory and cross-matching the bullets and fingerprints recovered in the crime scene.
SITG-Yulo is also now examining the close circuit television (CCTV) footages collected by the probers for possible identification of the gunmen.
Businessman Jose Luis Yulo, 62; his driver Allan Nomer Santos, 55, were killed when two men riding a black motorcycle fired shots at their white Toyota Grandia van with plate number NOS 361
Another passenger, stock broker Esmeralda Ignacio is now recovering from her wounds at VRP Medical Center in Mandaluyong City.
The three reportedly came from a drag racing event at Clark International Speedway in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Senior Supt. Moises Villaceran, Mandaluyong City Police chief, said that 12 spent cartridges cases and a bullet were recovered from the crime scene believed to be from a caliber .45 pistol.
