Ed Sheeran, wife Cherry Seaborn welcome birth of daughter Lyra

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn just announced the birth of their first child.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Sheeran shared a photo of a pair of baby socks announcing the birth of his daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.

“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you... Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran,” Sheeran wrote.

“We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here,” he added.

The post has already garnered 2.3 million likes as of writing.

Fans, family, and friends congratulated the couple.

“We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back,” Sheeran said.

The singer-songwriter announced last year he was taking a break after “non-stop” work since 2017.

He thanked his fans and promised to return with some new music.

The couple married last year.

They have reportedly been dating since 2015.
